7 years ago a beautiful young couple
came into my life and that of my son
their names are Keith and Laura
their love for Jesus colored their world with colors
of every hue
bright vibrant colors
spreading His love
His joy
as they lovingly
colored on the
lives of young
people here
in Chino
together they walked
my then 12 year old son
through the death of his dad
they loved him with passion
found in hearts
passionate for loving like Jesus
patiently they mentored
lovingly they comforted
their bright colors of joy
rubbed off on the canvas of his life
which consisted of cool dark colors
together they helped him learn
that shimmering colors of joy and peace
can coexist with subdued
colors of pain and darkness
they laughed with him
they encouraged him
as he played drums
as only he could play
some thought his drumming overwhelming...
but not Keith and Laura
they understood he was sharing his heart
through each beat of a drum
worshiping in his unique way
his world was rocked
when they left for a far away land...
Israel would become their home
more young people
to be blessed
other people who had walked
by his side in similar love
stayed close to his heart
yet he missed Keith and Laura
he saw them and their growing family
almost every summer...
reconnecting
as they continued to color on his life
with the multi-colored
multi-faceted
love of Jesus
5 years have passed
Jerusalem has become home
Israel a land so loved
they have shared
that passion with
many many
people of all ages
discipling
teaching
encouraging
loving
they now are gathering their
precious girls
Maryann and Josa...
their belongings...
their memories
vivid and sharp...
packing all to move
as Abba is leading
Keith and Laura
will always reflect
the love of Jesus
they have walked in His steps
and love with His love
as they color lives
wherever they go
may Abba bless you richly
my friends as He continues to use you
thank you for touching my life and that of my son
in profound ways
which words seem to defy
