sometimes has a definitive
beginning and a definitive
ending
(always nice for those
of us thriving on
structure)
while sometimes the
beginning is barely
discernible, let alone
the ending.
all that is known is this:
you are somewhere in between
the beginning and the end,
most likely
in the middle.
and every heart willing
to be honest has been in the
in between at some point in time.
and the place of the in between
is not inherently a bad place to be.
the in between can be a time of
renewal and
restoring and
refreshing as we
are often driven yet drawn
oh so tenderly into the arms of our Abba
as we seek to find stability and regain our footing.
and once there, we can see
His face oh so clearly and hear
His voice as never before.
this heart knows well that the
place of the in between
is like a workshop
of sorts, filled
with tools.
and at times
this heart
is tempted to
pick up the tools
and get to work on finding
the exit to the in between.
nothing good ever comes from
the created (me) attempting
to help the creator (God)
for not only is He the only One
who can actually see the plans...
He is the artist
the designer
the composer
the conductor
the Creator!
and who am I to advise
Him on that which He sees
in perfection so perfectly?
and when I still my
pounding heart
and clear my racing mind,
He gently reminds me of
Who. He. Is.
and
who. I. am.
"And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We are all formed by your hand."
Isaiah 64:8
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.
Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o'er my being absolute sway.
Fill with Thy Spirit; then all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me.
