for me a moment profound
when a dear friend shared thoughts
on this verse....
do not let your anger
go into the darkness
where the light
cannot reveal it
corners of darkness inky black
hidden in deep recesses of the heart
if light....HIS light
is kept out
the heart will slowly
destroy itself
from the inside out
I know. I have been there.
anger will kill the spirit
anger allowed to become bitterness
will drain the heart and the body
of life
unforgiveness whether conscious or unconscious
dims the heart's ability
to experience His presence
never will He remove His presence
the heart bitter...angry...unforgiving
simply cannot fully take in the warmth
the beauty
the peace
the joy
which comes in
His presence unfiltered
His light can and will pierce ANY darkness
if the heart is willing
to allow His light in
the journey to healing light
can take years...
the heart must
be aware...
the eyes of the heart must
be opened...
once the painful truth realized
the heart must make a choice...
stay in the comfort
the familiarity of
darkness
or risk
leaving what is known
for the beauty of the unknown
courage is required to bring
dark corners into the light
allowing His love
to radiate
to shimmer
as drops of His grace
tenderly fall like the rain
filling the corners of the heart
no longer dark
I know. I am there.
