"You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!"
Isaiah 26:3
peace can seem elusive at best.
perhaps what WAS this morning,
IS no more by this afternoon,
be that a job or a home or
a relationship or a dream
or health or even a life
here on this earth.
and peace seems to slip
between the fingers as
rapidly as grains of sand.
and the more desperately
the hand tries to grasp that
which is slipping away,
the more elusive it becomes.
and your heart lies shattered
at your feet.
and He promises that a fresh
outpouring of peace so perfect
will rain down on that heart, as
gently He draws the focus from
that which is all consuming,
and places it on the beauty and
majesty and power and love and
tenderness and compassion of
WHO HE IS.
and He whispers,
"I love you, child."
and although perhaps
not as personal,
what about the time
or season when
the journey simply takes a turn
unexpected to the left or
right or even in circles,
and.
fear.
grips.
or anger rises.
and perhaps
your heart is
convinced
that all
is lost.
oh but nothing can be
truly lost if God holds
every second of
every minute of
every day
in His hand.
and. He. does.
and He promises that a fresh
outpouring of peace so perfect
will rain down on that heart, as
gently He draws the focus from
that which is all consuming,
and places it on the beauty and
majesty and power and love and
tenderness and compassion of
WHO HE IS.
and He whispers,
"I love you, child."
I needed this today!
