a rainbow with no rain

                                                sometimes this heart needs
                                                    reminders.
                                                         reminders to look up.
                                                         reminders to
                                                               remember to
                                                                     remember
                                                               the faithfulness
                                                          of God.
                                                    and really, is it not
                                               written everywhere? 
                                          the sky is His canvas
                                     His finger the brush.
                                     He even paints rainbows
                                       with no storm clouds or
                                           raindrops.
                                              He set millions of
                                                  water drops in the sky
                                                      to form a cloud so thin
                                                   as almost to see through.
                                                and there was the rainbow.

                                                  a gift from His heart to
                                                     my heart.
                                                        a reminder
                                                            of promises.
                                                            never will He leave.
                                                            never will He
                                                                abandon.
                                                      always He will love
                                                 and treasure and cherish
                                            and comfort and guide.
                                            and His grace like a ribbon
                                            pours over hearts everywhere
                                                 in colors exquisite
                                                       of the rainbow.
