before we step in...
before we take the
step of faith...
but He says step in
then the water will part
we long to know that we know
that the deal is done
that the door is open
that all is in place
before we step ahead
but He says trust in that
which we already know...
He is faithful
He will not lead to a place
where He is not already present
in the realm of time and space
into which He created
and placed us
the whole picture
is not revealed
we see in
snapshots
what He sees
as the album complete
we hear in phrases
in movements individual
the symphony complete
which He hears
and conducts
for He is the Composer of all
this heart is guilty of
trusting secure
in His promises
one moment
then questioning
doubting
fearing
the next
oh He understands that
inherent within each heart
is the longing to see
to know
to touch
for did He not create
each heart?
does He not hold
each heart?
yet His heart longs for us to
rest in peace secure
even when we cannot see or know or touch
so this heart will step out in faith
knowing that I know that I know
He will be with me wherever I go
