singlemindedness of heart
eyes of the heart
fixed on
focused on
Jesus alone
difficult at best
for we often race through days
living for that which is yet to come
allowing our hearts to believe a lie
"if only I can make it until or past....
then all will be well"
or perhaps living for what
once was
usually ending in
regret and guilt
so how does the heart live
in singleness of heart?
answers perhaps
as numerous as the stars
He flung into space
for each heart beats
uniquely with His
for this heart
it means living small
so He becomes bigger
and how to live small?
thankfulness.
for when I live thanks
I cannot help but see Him
in everything
everywhere
so often I forget...
I forget to number His grace
which falls freely in gifts
as raindrops fall from heaven
to earth
those gifts need not be so big
as to trip over
for those I am most likely
to miss anyway
no...it is in the tiny
the ordinary
the everyday
perhaps even the
annoyances of life
that the eyes of the heart
are brought back into focus
for is that not where we live most?
living small...
living in singleness of heart
means to live with
eyes wide open
live in anticipation
live on tiptoes
live with grace
live with softness
live thanks.
live thanks in the light of the moon
whose light soft and gentle
is the reflection of the sun
for what better way to
live singleness of
heart than to
reflect His heart
