the mysterious place
the place of mystery
that time in between
what was
and what will be
between where I was
and where I will be
between who I was
and who I will be
a waiting room of sorts
a holding pattern, if you will
typically not a comfortable place
usually a time of refinement
a time of stretching
a time of believing
a time of growing
a time of waiting
hence the waiting room
too often I have
looked forward to
the "next season"
the season
following
the season of waiting
today I heard four words:
stuck in the mystery
words resonating deep
words touching a place
in my heart not always
welcoming
four other words I at times ask or am asked:
what am I doing?
what are you doing?
words often causing guilt
words penetrating deep
into this heart of hearts
oh, not bad words...
rather what I do
with these words
determines where
this heart will go
"be still in the presence of the Lord
and wait patiently for Him to act"
Psalm 37:7
does that mean to lie back in ease
waiting for Him to act?
no.
for to wait and be still is
to live in anticipation
to live on tiptoes
to live knowing He gives
this moment
this hour
this day
as a gift precious
to be given back to
the Giver of life
only He can quiet a heart
enough to hear His whisper:
"My child,
revel in the mystery
dance in the mysterious
twirl with delight
as you wait in the mystery
for a heart can dance and twirl
yet be silent in My presence
a heart waiting can be wrapped in
in My peace
oh no more beautiful place exists
than the mystery
to be stuck in that
mysterious
place
will only draw you
nearer to My heart of hearts
and that is all I ask of you
I alone know that for which I
prepare you
I alone know the what
the when
the where
all I ask is
a heart ready
a heart willing
a heart listening
never leave the mystery, My beloved
no matter where I lead
no matter if you are here or there
doing this or that
no greater calling exists
than to not only be
stuck in the mystery
but to dwell in the mystery
for in that mysterious place
I will meet you
I will bring you to higher heights
I will bring you to deeper intimacy
than you ever dreamed possible"
