once a little baby girl was born
her name was emri
she was perfect in every way
ten little fingers
ten little toes
her mommy and daddy loved her so much
they held her and touched her
they couldn't believe she was theirs to love
a gift from heaven
wrapped in a beautiful pink bow
emri was special in so many ways
God had picked her mommy and daddy
with His very own hands
for He knew they would love her
cuddle her
take care of her
in special
ways
that made her even more special
her mommy and daddy and
grandmas and grandpas and
uncles and aunts and cousins
all loved her so very much
emri was God's little angel
sent to this earth to help teach
everyone how to love
even before she was born
God had everything about
emri perfectly planned
He knew the sound of her
heartbeat before it began to beat
He knew when she would take
her first breath before time
began
He knew emri
emri started to grow
she smiled at everyone
who smiled at her
she loved to laugh and play
doctors and nurses
were part of emri's life
they all loved her so much
and took such good care of her
everyone knew how special
emri was
they all knew she was
an angel given to
them by Jesus
who loved
her most
emri kept growing
she had more love in her
precious tiny heart than
many who had lived
so much longer
than she had
her heart needed extra
special care from doctors
yet every beat of her heart
was held in Jesus' hand
her tummy needed
help to eat
her back
needed help to grow
her legs needed help to
crawl and walk
but no one had to help emri love
no one had to help emri smile
no had to help emri laugh
these things emri did because
she loved to love
Jesus had given her
an extra extra big
amount of love
and giggles
and joy
it hurt emri's mommy and daddy's
hearts so much to see her hurt
they wanted to take away
all the things that
made emri hurt
yet Jesus gave them
an extra extra special amount
of love when they were hurting
He would hold them
as they held her
for you see that
is how the love of
Jesus works....
the more you love
the more you are loved
the more you give of your heart
the more your heart will receive
Jesus was always watching
always protecting
always holding
little emri
she was always so brave
she helped her mommy
and her daddy be brave
even when they were scared
her smile would remind them
that Jesus was there...
always
God knew that emri had
so much love to share
that He gave her a baby brother
his name was Abe
the Christmas when abe was born
was a Christmas at Hopkins
emri had a rod put in her back
to help her stand tall
she was so brave
and Jesus held all of them
close in His arms
as they celebrated the day
He was born that first Christmas
oh how emri and abe love each other
their mommy and daddy
have a house full of
giggles and fun
and love
and sometimes
big messes
but even big messes
and tears
and even some trouble
cannot dim the light of Jesus
which shines from their house
when everything is serious
sometimes it helps to just be silly!
today emri is 4 1/2
and abe is 2
emri loves to go to school
and still smiles and smiles
her mommy and daddy prayed to Jesus
people all over the country prayed to Jesus
Jesus brought emri back home to her
mommy and daddy and abe
she is getting better!
this precious little girl
has touched hearts everywhere
with her one little heart
thank you emri for being His angel
and shining His light wherever you go!
