"Do not be afraid!
don't be discouraged by this
mighty army, for the battle is not yours,
but God's.
Tomorrow march out against them.
You will find them coming up through
the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley
that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel.
But you will not even need to fight.
Take your positions, then stand still and
watch the Lord's victory.
He is with you, O people of
Judah and Jerusalem.
Do not be afraid or
discouraged.
Go out against them tomorrow
for the Lord is with you!"
2 Chronicles 20:15-17
words near to my heart...
the battle is not mine
rather it is His
words clung to
words prayed
words comforted
promises unfathomable
wrapped in love immeasurable
not only is the battle not mine...
I am told to stand still
to watch the Lord's
victory!
I need only to
take position and
be still
sometimes difficult for this
heart of mine
the battle is His
still so often I try to help
for a heart
doing feels needed
while a heart
being feels
vulnerable
yet when
standing still
sitting still
being still
waiting
He shows Himself strong
every time
and once still...
quiet enough to hear with the eyes
of the heart
peace wraps like a
blanket warm
thoughts
gradually
untangle
fog which shrouded
causing fear to grip
lifts
with a touch of His hand
with a word from His lips
once again His whisper
reminds
no fear
no discouragement
for He is right there
His light radiant
piercing even the
darkest night
and even when my 'help'
makes a mess messier
He still reaches out
calls me His own
assures me
nothing I do
nothing I fail to do
could ever increase
or decrease His love for me
for perfect love is wholly complete
and the battle is already won
