"Let there be light in the darkness,"
has made this light shine in our hearts so
we could know the glory of God that is seen
in the face of Jesus Christ. We now have this
light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves
are like fragile clay jars containing this
great treasure. This makes it clear that
our great power is from God,
not ourselves.
2 Corinthians 4:6-7
one need not look far to find
darkness.
an atmosphere of darkness
smothers like a heavy, wet
blanket.
darkness
black as a
moonless night
type of darkness
covers much of our
world today.
a despairing thought?
perhaps.
yet there is hope. always.
for never will the
darkness prevail.
light will always
extinguish the dark.
always.
Jesus promised.
I believe.
Jesus is the light in the dark.
and we who love Him
are a reflection of that light.
never are we told to be that light,
for only perfection can be perfect.
rather we reflect His light
much as the moon reflects
the sun.
yet deeper still,
He is the source
of light
shining in us
and the
cracks and chips
and holes and
broken pieces that are
my life...for I can speak
only for myself...
allow His light to
shimmer and glow
with His warmth
onto and into the
small corner of this
world I call home.
and when even just a
glimmer of light exists,
the darkness is pierced!
and that light is like a star.
the same stars which He hung
in space and calls by name.
and my prayer is that like the
star of Bethlehem,
even the small, often flickering
and wandering light that is my life,
will point to the Source of Light,
Abba Father, as seen in the
face of Jesus.
Jesus.
only
Jesus.
