beauty and pain often collide.
lightning flashes in raw beauty
taking the breath away.
yet that same lightning
has the capacity to destroy.
so it is with the wind.
furious, beautiful power
has the potential to bring
destruction.
and storms of the heart?
darkness can seem to
extinguish light as evil
once again shatters lives
and
hearts
are left
weeping.
life's uncertainties
leave you feeling as if
waves are pulling you under.
hope can fade
as dreams die and
the storm rages fiercely.
yet if you listen with
the ears of your heart,
a voice whispers above
the intensity of the storm:
"My beautiful child,
My grace is cascading down in rain
and grace drenches when
tears are
falling and hearts
are breaking.
O My beloved one,
you simply cannot control all which
swirls around in the storm!
yet I do not leave you to endure
the storm on your own.
no, My child.
the wind whipping
is designed to drive
you even further into
My arms of love.
and just when you are
convinced you are drowning
My arms will lift you high
above the tumultuous water.
the storm is multifaceted, child.
the pain experienced is real, intense,
take your breath away pain.
yet as the clouds hang so low,
obscuring your vision, I am there.
your heart longs to remove the pain
for those you love, for those unknown,
and for your own heart.
O precious one, the paradox exists
in the very place where
beauty and pain collide.
the pain is that you can do
nothing,
yet the beauty is also that
you can do nothing!
allow this truth to take the
burdens weighing on your heart
placing them where they truly belong:
on My shoulders, in My hands.
so look up, My child.
just when you feel you are undone,
I will cause sun drops and rain drops
to collide, resulting in a rainbow shimmering.
this is My promise.
you are not alone.
those you love are
not alone.
those you do not know
are not alone.
for always
I am present
and always I AM."
“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.
2 When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
3 For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."
