He. is. on. the. throne.

                           Therefore, God elevated him to the place
                                        of highest honor
                               and gave him the name above all other
                                        names,
                           that at the name of Jesus every knee
                                        should bow,
                                in heaven and on earth and under the
                                        earth,
                           and every tongue confess that Jesus
                                        Christ is Lord,
                                 to the glory of God the Father.
                                                       Philippians 2:9-11

                                         O Jesus,
                                             forgive me for forgetting.
                                             forgive me for allowing
                                                  fear and uncertainty
                                                        to take hold.
                                                                so easily I forget.
                                                            I forget that You
                                                        are on the throne.
                                                    I forget that You
                                               are God and I am not.
                                           I forget that the victory is
                                       already won.
                                    You know how the story ends
                                    because You wrote the story!
                                    You not only wrote the story,
                                        but You entered into that story.
                                             all for love You stepped down
                                                  from all that is pure and
                                                       lovely and holy and
                                                            beautiful and 
                                                                 You became
                                                                      one
                                                                           of
                                                                              us.

                                                                     all. for. love.
   
                                                               You understand.
                                                            You understand
                                                         the hatred and
                                                      intolerance and
                                                   racism and pride
                                                and evil and disregard
                                             for the incredible gift that
                                          every. single. life. represents.
                                       You understand because You lived.
                                    You walked in every footprint of
                                 every heart ever beating.

                                 and as You look down at
                                    Your creation today,
                                       Your tears must
                                            fall
                                                 like
                                                      the
                                                           rain.

                                                      You see the unseen.
                                                   You see the battle fierce
                                                being fought for every soul.
                                             Your light
                                             Your power
                                             Your authority
                                                not only causes demons
                                                    to shudder and run,
                                                        but You have promised
                                                            that same light and
                                                          power and authority
                                                       are ours as well!
                                                    O Jesus give us hearts
                                                 of courage wrapped in
                                               the same humility with
                                            which You walked the very
                                         ground on which Your blood
                                      ran red with Your heart of love.
                                   remind us always that 
                                You. are. on. the. throne.
                             light will always extinguish the dark
                             and even today when darkness seems
                             to cover like a suffocating blanket
                                of fear and uncertainty,
                                   a flame still burns.
                                       and even the tiniest
                                            flickering flame will
                                                pierce the darkness.
                                                    and one day there
                                                        will be no more night.

                    I also pray that you will understand
                        the incredible greatness of God's 
                          power for us who believe Him
                          this is the same mighty power
                        that raised Christ from the dead
                     and seated Him in the place of honor
                at God's right hand in the heavenly realms.
