there was a little girl named Autumn...she danced and twirled and laughed and sang her way into every heart she ever met...she smiled with her whole body...especially her eyes...bright and sparkly and twinkling...she loved everyone and everyone loved her...especially her mommy and daddy and brother and sister and grandpas and grandmas
and uncles and aunts and cousins
and Jesus...
Autumn knew how much Jesus loved her and she loved Him as much as her little three year old heart possibly could...
so when the day that became the before and after day...the day when life became identified as before Autumn went to heaven and after Autumn went to heaven...questions swirled and hearts ached and tears flowed and a place in her family's hearts was forever left empty...and how does one explain why something evil and wrong and tragic and heartbreaking happens anyway? are there really answers to unanswerable questions? is it possible to comprehend the incomprehensible? I don't believe it is...at least to any satisfying degree on this side of heaven...
yet hope remains.
2 1/2 years after Autumn's Glory Day, God is truly bringing good of out what was meant for evil...her mommy and daddy have worked tirelessly to bring into the light that which so often lives in the darkness...child abuse...inflicting pain on the most innocent and precious and defenseless...children of all ages...the voiceless ones now have a voice...and although the voices of Autumn's mommy and daddy still waver with emotion many times, they are standing firm and strong and saying no more...
END IT! for Autumn seeks to end child abuse
and bring healing help to young victims.
hard questions still remain...tears still flow...a bed remains empty...life will certainly never be the same...yet Autumn's mommy and daddy and sister and brother and everyone else who loved her know that she still dances and twirls and laughs and sings...she still smiles with her whole body...her eyes are still bright and sparkly and twinkling...she lives in perfection perfected with Jesus...
and one day they will hold her again...
and Autumn lives on in every child whose life is saved.
