the essence of faith

                                         when that leap of faith
                                                   seems more frightening
                                                           with each passing day

                                             when you realize His promise
                                                   to provide for that leap
                                                might look a little different
                                                  than what you pictured

                                                              perhaps that is the essence of
                                                                               faith...
                                                                 knowing that you know
                                                          that you know that you heard Him say
                                                                             "the time is now"

                                                        perhaps faith defined
                                                  is a heart seeking to understand
                                                              who Abba Father is...
                                                                        a heart assured of
                                                                           His big hands
                                                                         a heart willing to
                                                                      leap into those hands

                                                         to trust He is worthy of trust
                                                                   to know He knows all
                                                                      to leave all in those
                                                                                hands so big

                                                             for no safer place exists than
                                                                  in the hands of God
                                                              worship goes no deeper
                                                          than arms raised
                                                      hands open
                                                  giving God
                                             each breath
                                             each heartbeat
                                             each thought
                                             each movement

                                                  But I trust in You, O Lord;
                                                          I say "You are my God"
                                                  my times are in Your hands...
