a blessing defined

                                            He promises blessings given to the heart
                                                   stepping out
                                                           in faith

                                                      blessings innumerable for the heart
                                                           leaping off the cliff of faith
                                                              into space and time yet unknown
                                                                 except by Him
                                                             who created the space and time
                                                          into which the heart leaps

                                                                  blessings will rain down
                                                          on the leaping heart
                                                          on the stepping heart
                                                  as well as on the heart requiring 
                                                              a gentle nudge
                                                              a push of love

                                                     grace measures not the amount of faith
                                                                it took to move
                                                                    or the length of time
                                                                        or the result visible
                                                                             for faith cannot be
                                                                        measured on human scales

                                                                          rather grace simply enfolds
                                                                                 the faithful heart

                                                      a blessing defined:
                                                            "the act or words of one that blesses;
                                                                         approval, encouragement"

                                                         perhaps no greater blessing exists than
                                                                         feeling the approval of Abba
                                                                                    pressing on 
                                                                                    the heart
                                                                                    imperfectly
                                                                                    faithful

                                                                     sensing His smile warm
                                                                as sunshine caresses
                                                           as breeze whispers
                                                       as all creation sings of His love
                                                                                                    
                                                                        and that is enough
                                                                                for me

                                                      "O God, in mercy bless us;
                                                            let Your face beam with joy
                                                                 as You look down at us."
