before time
gray clouds hang low.
tiny raindrops kiss roses
so white.
tears fall,
mingling
with the rain.
from before
time even began,
He saw this day.
before the
morning stars
were taught to sing
and planets placed in orbit,
He knew.
He knew when
her first heartbeat
would softly stir.
He knew when that same heart
would beat its last.
and He knew every
heartbeat
in between.
He knew
every step
she would take.
He knew every
smile and laugh
as well as tear
she would cry.
and He gathered
those tears tenderly
to keep forever,
just as He gathers
your tears today.
He knew each song
she would sing,
for how could
the Composer
not know every
intimate detail
and nuance of
His composition?
He knew each harmony
that would be formed as
the melody of her life,
soaring with beauty,
would intertwine with
the life songs of those
blessed to be called
her family,
her friends.
and He knew the exquisite
richness and depth of love
as two life songs
blended into one,
became three.
three lives
woven together
in His symphony
for His glory.
this movement,
this season,
which began
thirteen years ago,
is now transitioning into
the next.
tears fell on her face
as you held her close,
gently letting go
as Jesus gathered
her into His arms.
until you meet
again.
"He will wipe every tear
from their eyes, and there
will be no more death or sorrow
or crying or pain. All these things
are gone
forever."
