a world undone.
a world coming undone.
a world coming apart at the seams.
or so it would seem.
like looking at the back of a
tapestry...
threads lead to places
making no sense.
knots of thread
rise like roadblocks.
color scheme?
well, it would seem
that scheme to be absent.
and beauty?
they say it lies in the eye of the
beholder.
this would take an eye partial to messes.
and so the last week would seem.
in a season of celebration
tears flow like the rain
till no tears are left.
innocent lives cut short by what can be
described only as evil.
laughter turned to horror
in the beat of a heart.
and does not this world truly seems to be
fraying and falling and fearing
at every turn?
children go to bed hungry.
many have not even a bed.
illness or accident or violence
takes a life so precious as
the family gasps for air.
refugees flee from homes
no longer existing
not knowing to
where they
flee.
oh this list could fill 100 blog posts
and more.
and each life impacted
is precious and loved
by the One who
created life itself.
yet here is the reason for
and very essence of these
words I write today:
always there is hope.
for as long as this world
spins on its axis and the sun rises and sets
our Abba is lovingly weaving the tapestry
of our lives.
we see only the chaos of the back
of a masterpiece not yet complete.
and often the masterpiece
is damp with His tears, for
when our hearts ache,
His heart breaks.
there will be a day when all is clear.
there will be a day when our eyes
see the masterpiece in all its glory.
and perhaps most stunning?
I believe we will see a thread
of gold so pure and so brilliant
woven throughout the design.
and that thread so golden
will trace the outline of the
very hand of God.
for never does He leave
us to design our own
lives
or figure out the next
step
or save ourselves from
ourselves.
no...a thousand times no.
for He is love and love cannot
not love.
so never lose hope for never will
He leave us and never will His
grace and love cease to fall
in drops of beauty.
look for that beauty.
look in the ordinary.
look in the simple.
and there you will
see the hand of God.
