you need only be still"
Exodus 14:14
so often the heart focuses on
"what do you do?"
a simple question
yet often guilt inducing
after all
no matter what one heart does
another heart will likely do more
do better
never does Jesus
ask the heart to do more
never are the action verbs
on the side of the heart
no ~ He is the doer
the heart is the recipient
He loves
He sustains
He heals
He forgives
He creates
He carries
He gives
He takes away
He blesses
HE IS
of the heart He asks
be real
be loving
be broken
be humble
be vulnerable
be a light in the darkness
He gently reminds
that the battle is His
that He will fight
for me
if I will be still
no mess is too messy
no sin too sinful
for He specializes in
beauty from ashes
redemption from ruins
if I will simply be
if I will surrender all
if I will raise arms empty
He can do His most
powerful
indescribable work
His plans
His purposes
His dreams
for me
will be
fulfilled
as He holds me up
so the world can see
His light
His glory
His strength revealed
He simply tells me
to be still
be calm
wait for Him to act
