release with open hands
that which weighs heavy
presses hard
burdens causing shoulders to stoop
regrets
disappointments
hearts aching
He wants to take all
so I can give all
He gently lifts the chin bowed low
wipes away the tears
looks into eyes deep
love overflowing
no words needed
when the fist is clenched
the heart is clenched
oh how I long to
ease the pain
heal the broken
put all back where it was
make old new
supply the need
straighten the leg crooked
make feet once able to walk
walk once again
His ways
His plans
His purposes
are His to know
each life is a canvas
He is the artist
what looks like lines strewn about
colors on top of colors
scribbled over with more color
is really beauty in progress
help me live with hands open
arms raised in worship
letting go of all that is not mine to hold
and as I let go may I cling ever more tightly to You
help me live with hands open
arms raised in worship
letting go of all that is not mine to hold
and as I let go may I cling ever more tightly to You
"be at rest once more O my soul
for the Lord has been good to you"
Psalm 116:7
