The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, O LORD, do not abandon those who search
for you.
Psalm 9:9-10
one might think that by now God
would have allowed this
planet called earth
to simply spin off its
axis.
the One who calls
every single star
by name,
the One who orchestrates
every sunrise,
every sunset,
who causes summer to
gradually become autumn
and autumn
become winter
and winter
become spring
and spring
become summer,
who tells the ocean waves
exactly how far they
may crash
onto dry land,
who breathes life into
every creature
and animal
on land
in the sea
and in the air,
who not only breathes life
into every person,
but gives the astounding gift
to each one of being made in His
very
image,
this God continues to pour grace
down
like
rain
on all His creation
so not deserving His
mercy so merciful.
still His gives.
still He loves.
still He holds.
and is that not the
beauty of the cross?
no dark is too dark,
no sin is too great,
no pit is too deep,
that He cannot and
will not redeem!
His grace is stunning
and still He holds.
