my brokenness and the cross.
brokenness in sin and guilt and
all which separated me from God.
all which separated you from God.
perfection allowed
Himself to be broken
into f r a g m e n t s
so my broken pieces,
your broken pieces,
the broken pieces
of every heart
to beat could
be put back
together.
the edge pieces
(so to speak)
of the heart now
form the outline
of the puzzle.
and
because
of His
willingness
to be so broken
for you and me,
we can now be
beautifully broken
in Him, for
brokenness is
indeed beautiful.
brokenness is freedom.
brokenness allows
the light of
perfection
to shine
through.
of the puzzle
will have the
lines and
c r a c k s
between
those pieces
until heaven.
pretending to
not be broken
requires much
more strength
than admitting
brokenness.
this heart of brokenness
knows this first hand.
embracing the brokenness
allows the heart
to look outside
of one's self and
see all
the brokenness
of despair
surrounding
rather than focus
on hiding the
truth of our
own brokenness
so beautiful
in Him.
walking broken
is not easy
nor for the
faint of heart.
we have an
enemy who hates
an honest and
vulnerable heart.
for a heart distracted
with pretense
and self-preservation
is much less
threatening
in the war
unseen
than a heart
focused on
the One who
was broken on
the cross.
this, too, this heart
knows first hand.
the broken's
best offense
and defense
is the name
of Jesus.
this name,
whether
whispered
or shouted
or cried has
the power to
crush demons
and send the
enemy running.
and this is the beautiful
truth of the cross.
"Though he was God,
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
Instead, he gave up his divine privileges;
he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal's death on a cross.
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:6-11
